Here and Now

Being in the present moment or the “here and now” means that we are aware and mindful of what is happening around us or within us at this very moment. We are not distracted by issues of the past or worries about the future but centred on the “here and now”.

  • Start practising some form of mindfulness exercise

It may be yoga or meditation or any means of connecting with yourself and the world around you better. You can try out different Mindfulness or Meditation or CalmApps on your phone to calm you down from all the noise within you and around you.

  • Start maintaining a mindfulness journal

In the morning before you get busy or head off to work or start checking things on your “To Do List”, take a few minutes to go through your journal or notebook and write down how you feel about the day.

  • Start maintaining a gratitude journal

Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness as per science. Gratitude helps people feel more positive. It helps relish good experiences, improve health, and build strong relationships. Count your blessings and forget your shortcomings. It helps enhance your Wellness. Shifting your focus to good things from the not so good things is a powerful way to rewire thoughts and improve Wellness.Write down what you are grateful for. Do it every day if possible or at least once a week. Say a kind word or send a Thank You Note to the people who made your day great.

  1. Take a mindful nature work to rejuvenate your senses

Open your ears to listen to the sounds surrounding you, listen to your breath, feel each inhale and exhale.

  • Do a 5 min mindful review of the day, every night.

Think through your day, note any memorable moment or event. Reflect on the entire day and retrospect.

“Leave life for the moment because everything else is uncertain. “
